In the browser version of Discord Online, as well as in the PC application, you can change the appearance of the chat. Moreover, this can be done both in a regular way, that is, using the existing settings, and using third-party tools.

Discord does not provide the ability to customize chats in a regular way. All that is available to the user is to download an avatar from the server when creating it, and also choose one of two design themes – dark or light.
To expand the customization options, you can install a plug-in in the browser that allows you to customize sites. For example, the Stylish plugin does a good job.
How to Change the theme of the chat
By default, Discord online has a black theme. To change the theme to light, follow these steps:
- Open Discord Online.
- In the lower left corner of the screen, next to the username, click on the gear to open the settings.
- In the field on the left, find the section Application Settings and click on the subsection Appearance.
- On the appearance settings page, find the subsection Subject click on the line Light.
- Close settings by pressing the key Escon the keyboard or by clicking on the cross icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
After completing these steps, the chat background will turn white and all text will turn dark. To turn on the dark theme again, follow all the steps again and click on the line in the settings Dark theme.
Chat customization with a plugin
Consider how to change the chat background in the Google Chrome browser using the Stylish plugin:
- Follow the link to the plugin installation page — go.
- Click the button Installconfirm the action by clicking on the button Install extension in a popup window. After these steps, the plugin will be automatically installed.
- Click on the plugin icon that appeared in the upper right corner near the address bar.
- Click on the caption Find styles for different sites.
- Wait for the Discord Themes page to load and click on the one you like.
- On the theme page, click the button Install Style.
Once the theme is installed, it will be automatically applied to Discord Online. If you download multiple themes, follow these steps to install one of them:
- Click on the plugin icon next to the address bar in your browser.
- Open the plugin menu by clicking on the three dots and select the item Style Management.
- A list of themes you have downloaded will open. In each of them, click on the button Deactivate except for the one you want to apply to Discord.
As a result of these actions, only one theme will remain active, which will be applied to Discord. To replace it, deactivate and activate another theme.
