What if you are using a private group chat? It’s a little more complicated here, only administrators or owners can invite new people, other participants are deprived of such rights.
How to add a person to a group in Telegram
Let’s try to figure out how to add a contact to a Telegram group when it comes to a private chat. Recall that these actions are available only to the owner or admin:
- Click on the name of the conversation;
- Click on the “Invite” icon;
- Select a user from the list that opens.
Good news! Now you can figure out how to add a person to a group by phone number in Telegram if it is not in your phone book! When you open the “Invite” menu, a new icon appears.
- Click on the “Invite Link” icon;
- A special link will be generated in a new window – just click “Share” and then “Copy”.
Now the invitation can be sent to any person via any convenient messenger, social network, messages or email.
- Just below you will see the “Management …” icon;
- Open the menu to create a new link that will have a time limit (hour, day, week, or no time limit).
- A limited number of participants can use such an invitation – one, ten people, one hundred users or no restrictions. You decide!
You can easily and simply add a person from contacts or a new user who is not yet in the contact list to a Telegram group. It all depends on the type of group chat and your member permissions!
